Gift Shop

  • The gift shop is run by the Friends of the Forts Society and is open whenever the site is open.
  • Extensive selection of books related to the themes of the site.

  • Debit and credit cards accepted for gift shop sales.

Pets

  • Pets are allowed on the grounds but not in the buildings.
  • Pets must be kept on leash.
  • Identified service animals are always welcome.

Visitor Tips

  • Tours and services are offered in English.
  • Cell phone reception is limited throughout the site.
  • Archaeological sites are almost a kilometre from Interpretive Centre along a wooded trail.
  • Wear good walking shoes and clothing for variable weather when going out on the site. Check the Elk Point forecast before visiting.
  • Sunscreen and insect repellent are recommended.
  • Never approach any animals (wild or domestic) or birds found onsite.
  • Alcohol is prohibited.
  • Smoking is prohibited in the Interpretive Visitor Centre and within 5 metres of the doors.
